Spherical storage tank

Spherical storage tank refers to a storage tank with a spherical shell. It mainly consists of a spherical shell, a support, and auxiliary components. There are three types of spherical shell structures: single layer, double layer, and multi-layer. The spherical shell is formed by welding multiple pre pressed spherical plates into a certain shape. The main types of spherical tank plates are annular (melon petal) type and football type. Supports include pillar type, semi buried type, skirt type, etc. Auxiliary components include operating platforms, external ladders, manholes, and valves. The spherical tank used to store liquefied gas is also equipped with cooling spray, spray and fire insulation spray devices outside. For spherical tanks under pressure or vacuum, safety valves or vacuum valves are installed.

Construction of spherical tanks

The spherical tank consists of a spherical tank body, a support (or pillar), and accessories. The spherical tank body is a spherical container made of welded spherical shell plates, which is the pressure bearing part of the spherical tank. The support of spherical tanks is often a column type support made of multiple steel pipes, with the equatorial tangent column type being the most common.
